For the Fallout 4 discount, Green Man Gaming says the codes are coming directly from Steam. That game's developer, CD Projekt RED, questioned the source and legitimacy of the codes, and Green Man Gaming CEO Paul Sulyok eventually explained that the digital copies of the game were acquired through third parties after GMG couldn't make a deal with CD Projekt RED. Green Man Gaming might sound familiar even to those who haven't done business with the site before. The site was at the center of some controversy last month involving similar discount codes for copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The pre-order purchase will then net gamers a Steam code to download the game once it releases.
